Treasure Hunting with Rodney In Taconic Mountains, Rensselaer County, NY (Story 7)

...Now it was April of 2008. Rodney finally managed to come to Cohoes, New York, and pay me a visit. Since the winter was over and the weather had already been warm for a while, none of us had started a new metal detecting season for some important reasons yet. So now it was time to get our "shine" back! Unfortunately, the weather did not think so for a couple of days: it was raining non-stop.

On the other hand, after long rains, the soil would be moisturized well enough to let a detector catch the deepest coins. So when Rodney and I were great ed by the sunshiny morning, we quickly packed our metal detecting gear and readied ourselves for treasure hunting.

I almost forgot to tell you that Rodney still had to find his first Large Cent! Back then, keeping that in mind, I suggested to do our first hunt in 2008 in the Taconic Mountains - the best area in the Capital region for detecting large cents. I hope you did not get tired of this name and location in my previous stories, but the area is really huge and contains so many cellar holes that it would take anyone a long time to hit them all.
