The next find reminded me about the WW2 battles that took place in this area in 1944. Least of all I wanted to dig up numerous brass casings and brass splitters.

Fortunately, next came out a bronze strap buckle that shifted the possible dating of the site down to the 18th century.

The buckle's uneven shape and great condition (meaning a good quality of metal alloy) allowed me to date it even more down across the 1800's time barrier - to the late 17th century. But I kept my hopes under control.

Then I recovered one more copper coin.

It was just another Russian Imperial coin lost at the students' party (though I felt far from joking as such a coin is considered the most common find).
