Cache Hunting - Discovering A Hoard of Silver Hammered Coins (Story 14)
I expected a whole lot of coins to appear any second, but only a couple of them showed up. The mound was almost gone, and there was no more signals coming from it or from underneath...
Last Coins in the Mound
With all the excitement overwhelming me, I totally forgot to scan the wall behind the mound! I was just about to get my machine, as I noticed flickering of silver in the dirt... on the wall behind the mound! I looked closer and spotted the silver edges of coins sticking out.
By using my knife carefully, I broke a few inches of dirt off the wall, and suddenly an incredible view opened to me - the entire wall was sparkling with silver coins!
Now I realized how much I had underestimated this coin hoard's size!
In Better Light of Camera Flash
I tried to scrape down more dirt on each side off the big cluster of coins, but could not even prick the surface with the knife blade, the entire wall was packed with coins from left to right!
