Cache Hunting - Discovering A Hoard of Silver Hammered Coins (Story 14)
My efforts resulted in a creation of a square dirt mound sitting on the bottom in the middle. I was sure that the coin cache was contained inside the mound, and that I could just take it out of the hole in one piece.

One coin lying on the mound's top was like an invitation for me to carry out my simple plan.

But because of the sandy soil, I would not be able to move the mound in one piece. So I widened the prospecting pit to the right of the mound and began to slice the mound with my knife. The first slice revealed a few more coins.
