Cache Hunting - Discovering A Hoard of Silver Hammered Coins (Story 14)

Now I knew that there were silver hammered coins along with a few small iron nails present here, therefore, I had to dig all non-ferrous signals, even the bad ones! So I did investigate the next signal which was not good at all.

The Second Coin Was Unearthed a Minute Later

The coin design was visible even through the sandy soil which covered the coins. That meant that the coins were not worn off - a good indication of that the coins had come out of the buried cache. As a matter of fact, I had never seen the worn coins in a hoard. The coins buried intentionally always look like they have just come out of the mint.

The Third Wire Money Coin Came Out

Next hammered silver coin gave out the same "broken" signal as the previous coin did. That could be explained by two reasons: either there was an iron nail in close proximity to the coin or the coin was "hanging" in the soil in vertical or angled position.

If such a small and thin coin as the wire money coin falls out of your hand and through the grass, you will have to spend a long while to find it (again). Though the grass at the field had not grown tall and dense yet, I still had to "sweat my eyes off" looking for a loose coin I had dropped.
